ACFM (Alternating Current Field Measurement) has long been the preferred method for detecting surface breaking crack in the offshore industry. Due to its ability to be performed through coatings and mild surface corrosion it allows for a fast and accurate inspection of welds. With the new ACFM system, we are now able to do it with single person operation on the ground as well as on ropes. Our system records all scans and has a built-in camera allowing for a complete inspection to be performed without requiring extension cables, computers, and cameras as was needed with previous systems.
